You Are Significant: Remember Who You Are

You Are Significant: Remember Who You Are

Have you ever looked around at other people and thought, They’re more important than I am. They have more to offer. They matter more than I do.

If so, you’re not alone.

Many people quietly carry the belief that they are somehow “less than”—that their gifts aren’t enough, their voice doesn’t matter, or they don’t have anything meaningful to contribute. Yet nothing could be further from the truth.

You have the power of God within you.

Pause for a moment and truly let those words sink in.

Since the Divine lives within you, then you are here for a reason. Your life has purpose. Your presence matters. Your kindness matters. Your words matter. Your love matters. You are significant.

I know this firsthand because for much of my life, I put everyone else first and believed others were somehow better than I was.

Right before I began communicating with inspirational author Wayne Dyer after his passing and receiving the teachings of the We Consciousness, I experienced one of the deepest feelings of insignificance I’d ever known.

I was attending an event in Orlando where I would be speaking. The day before my event, I was sitting on a bus with some of my favorite authors and members of Wayne Dyer’s family. Serena Dyer, Wayne’s daughter, sat next to me, and although I felt very connected to her and everyone else on the bus, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I didn’t belong. I felt insignificant.

The bus took us to a tribute honoring Dr. Wayne Dyer. After it ended, I decided to walk back to the hotel instead of taking that same bus back because I felt like I didn’t fit in. After all, I wasn’t a member of the Dyer family, and I wasn’t as important as all of those well-known authors.

As I walked, I asked the Universe a simple question:

“How may I serve?”

That’s when I heard Wayne Dyer’s voice for the very first time.

“You are already serving,” he said.

“Okay, how may I serve…more?”

An incredible peace washed over me, yet I continued, “But I am so insignificant.”

Then, very forcefully, he replied:

“Get out of your own way!”

“Get out of your own way!”

I stopped in my tracks.

Am I really hearing this? I wondered.

I asked Wayne to give me a “without a doubt” sign that it was truly him.

Within minutes, I received it.

Somehow, a sticker had attached itself to my shirt. It simply read:

WE

(I share the full story in my book, We Consciousness.)

The following day, I attended an author gathering. Once again, those old feelings of not belonging returned—even though I, too, was a Hay House author.

It continued to bother me, and that night I couldn’t sleep. I decided to do some energy work and exercises on myself to release those deep-rooted feelings of not being enough. Little did I know that this particular healing experience would change the course of my life.

After doing these exercises, something shifted.

For the first time, I could say with complete conviction:

“I am significant.”

And I believed it.

The next day, I felt lighter, stronger, and more empowered than I had in years. It was as though decades of feeling “less than” had simply fallen away.

Later that day, I gave my presentation on life after death and healing after the loss of a loved one. At the end of my talk, I received a standing ovation.

Then I felt Wayne say to me:

“Yes, you are significant—and so is everyone else. You are making a difference, as can everyone in this room. Each of them has to reclaim their power, just as you did.”

Shortly after that experience, I began receiving the profound teachings that became the We Consciousness.

Looking back, I now understand that before I could fully step into my purpose, I first had to let go of the belief that I wasn’t enough.

Perhaps that’s true for you as well.

Maybe you’ve spent years comparing yourself to others.

Maybe you’ve convinced yourself that someone else is smarter, more spiritual, more talented, more successful, or more deserving.

But comparison only hides the truth.

The truth is that no one else can do what you came here to do.

No one else has your exact combination of experiences, gifts, compassion, wisdom, and heart. The world doesn’t need another copy of someone else. It needs you.

You don’t have to become someone different to serve humanity.

You simply have to become fully yourself.

Every person has a unique role to play in this world. Some people serve by writing books or speaking on stages. Others serve by raising loving children, caring for aging parents, comforting someone who is grieving, rescuing an animal, teaching, creating beauty, praying for others, or offering a simple smile to a stranger.

Never underestimate the power of one encouraging conversation.

One act of kindness.

One prayer.

One compassionate decision.

One person choosing love instead of fear.

Every ripple begins with a single drop.

When you recognize your own significance, you naturally give others permission to recognize theirs. You become a light that reminds people of the light within themselves.

You are not here by accident.

You are here because God has entrusted you with something only you can contribute.

The world doesn’t benefit when you hide your gifts.

It doesn’t benefit when you stay silent because you think someone else is more qualified.

It doesn’t benefit when you shrink yourself because you believe you aren’t enough.

It needs you.

So today, I invite you to reclaim your significance.

Stop comparing yourself to others.

Stop waiting until you feel “ready.”

Stop believing that someone else’s light somehow makes yours shine less brightly.

Remember that the same Divine Presence that created the stars, the oceans, the mountains, and every living thing also lives within you.

You have the power of God within you.

You carry a unique purpose that no one else can fulfill.

Whether you’re comforting a grieving friend, raising a child, caring for an animal, teaching, creating, praying, volunteering, smiling at a stranger, or simply choosing love instead of fear, you are serving.

Never underestimate the impact of your presence. Every loving thought, every compassionate action, and every peaceful choice sends ripples into the collective consciousness. As we each awaken to our own significance, we naturally help awaken it in others.

Remember who you are.

Remember the Divine within you.

Remember why you came.

You are significant.

And the world is waiting for the gifts that only you can give.
