Dearest God,
Help me remember that I was not placed on this earth simply to get through each day, but to truly experience the gift of being alive.
When the weight of the world feels heavy, help me not to close my heart to joy. Remind me that I can care deeply about the suffering of others and still allow myself to laugh, dance, celebrate, and feel happiness.
Teach me not to wait for everything to be perfect before I allow myself to be joyful.
Open my eyes to the sacred moments I might otherwise miss—the laughter of someone I love, a song that brings me back to another time, the beauty of nature, the unconditional love of an animal, the warmth of friendship, and those unexpected moments that make my soul feel lighter.
Help me understand that joy is not selfish. It restores me. It strengthens me. It fills me with the energy I need to love more deeply, give more freely, and be a greater source of light for others.
May I never become so busy taking care of life that I forget to live it.
Give me the courage to say yes to experiences that make my heart come alive, to be spontaneous sometimes, to laugh without holding back, to sing even if no one is listening, and to dance simply because I can.
And when joy finds me, help me receive it fully—with gratitude.
May the joy within my heart ripple outward, reminding others that even during difficult times, there is still beauty, goodness, love, and light in this world.
Thank you for this precious life.
Help me not merely to pass through it.
Help me to be present for it, to cherish it, and to truly live it.
Amen.
